Galapagos

A glue-footed booby (Sula nebouxii) incubates its egg in its nest in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. Since there are no predators, the nest is on the ground and consists only of guano. The booby mother recognizes any egg or chick inside the ring as its own, and ignores even its own offspring if they are outside of the ring.
The only cool place for these sea lions to rest on the Galapagos of Ecuador is the shade of a tree. The tree growth form, with bark, is unusual among cactuses.
